AMO/OMA, Timeline, 2025, DIAGRAMS: A PROJECT BY AMO/OMA, 10.5 - 24.11.2025, Fondazione Prada, Venezia | Courtesy AMO/OMA
At the Ca’ Corner della Regina in Venice, Fondazione Prada presents Diagrams, an exhibition conceived by AMO/OMA under the guidance of Rem Koolhaas. The project explores the diagram as an ancient and contemporary tool of knowledge, interpretation and persuasion. More than 300 objects, including manuscripts, videos and historical graphs, show how data can construct or distort meaning. From W.E.B. Du Bois’s social infographics to Florence Nightingale’s health graphs, to Humboldt’s ecological representations, the exhibition analyses the power and ambiguity of diagrams in human communication. Topics such as inequality, health, war and truth are addressed in nine thematic sections. The exhibition opens with a “meta-diagram” that reveals the exhibition method itself. Diagrams is also a reflection on the current role of images in forming collective visions and on the responsibility of those who construct and interpret data.
