La Nota Mancante marks the opening of the Fondazione Maddalena Di Giacomo in Venice, a new institution dedicated to artistic research and intangible cultural heritage. Set within Palazzo Valier, the exhibition explores the relationship between memory, perception and imagination through an immersive and multi-sensory experience. Bringing together contemporary and historical works, the project combines visual art with specially created olfactory installations, inviting visitors to engage with artworks through both sight and scent. The exhibition is built around the idea of an absent note that continues to resonate in the mind, much like a forgotten memory or an elusive emotion. Featuring artists from different generations and cultural backgrounds, La Nota Mancante reflects on longing, nostalgia and the ways in which art can give form to what is no longer physically present.
