At Palazzetto Tito in Venice, Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa presents Forme d’argilla. A century of Sardinian ceramics 1900-2000. Organized with the Istituto Superiore Regionale Etnografico, the exhibition brings together around eighty works and traces the development of Sardinian ceramics throughout the twentieth century. The display begins with domestic objects rooted in functional use and follows their gradual transformation into more autonomous artistic forms. Across the century, ceramics engage with visual arts and design while maintaining strong ties to local traditions. The exhibition structures this transition through thematic sections linking workshops, educational contexts and individual practices. Key figures such as Francesco Ciusa, Salvatore Fancello and Maria Lai mark crucial moments in this evolution, introducing new approaches to material and form. Alongside them, contemporary works show how this tradition continues to be reinterpreted. The exhibition presents ceramics as a field that connects craft, artistic research and cultural identity.
