Gastone Novelli, Dizzy, 1960
The monographic exhibition on Gastone Novelli (Vienna 1925 - Milan 1968) brings together around sixty works from Italian public and private collections in Venice to mark the centenary of the artist’s birth. Curated by Elisabetta Barisoni and Paola Bonani, the show on the second floor of Ca’ Pesaro – Galleria Internazionale d’Arte Moderna offers a chronological overview of his experimental practice, from early informal pieces linked to the L’Esperienza Moderna group to later works where mark, word and image engage in poetic and intellectual interplay. Alongside major works, recent acquisitions and documentary material highlight Novelli’s rich cultural life and connections with writers and fellow artists.
