The seventh edition of The Venice Glass Week, the international festival born in 2017 in Venice to celebrate the thousand-year-old art of glass, is entitled #TheArtofFire. From 9 to 17 September 2023, Venice, Murano and Mestre will host over 250 events, including the second appointment with The Floating Furnace that brings the art of master glassmakers to the Grand Canal (from 9 to 12 September, from 6 pm to 8 pm) thanks to an equipped boat docked at the Campo dell'Erbaria station in Rialto which will offer a unique show to anyone who is in Campo at the aperitif time. The headquarters of the event will instead be located between The Venice Glass Week HUB and The Venice Glass Week HUB Under35, the spaces hosted at Palazzo Loredan in Campo Santo Stefano, home of the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, from which the daily guided tours scheduled under the name of The Venice Glass Week Tours will also depart. The big widespread festival will see the participation of more than 200 entities - including institutions, galleries, companies, artists and professionals - selected by a Scientific Committee chaired by the glass historian Rosa Barovier Mentasti. Thursday 14 September should be put on the agenda for the ceremony of three important awards: the Glass in Venice Award, the Venice Foundation Award for The Venice Glass Week and the Autonoma Residency Prize.
